Like most kids, I left school unsure of my path, except I knew I had a knack for business. My mum pushed for a “job for life” at the council, so I gave it a go… I experienced a new level of bordem. I studied I.T and all things Business but craved something fast-paced and exciting. Then I stumbled into sales, selling jewellery on live TV for a QVC-style company. I loved the thrill, the challenge & the buzz. That moment sparked what would become my lifelong career in sales.
From Sales Leader to Entrepreneur
Since I was 18, I’ve sold it all. Direct mail, I.T hardware, luxury goods, beauty, digital marketing, sporting equipment, finance, you name it.
During my time in I.T sales, I was one of the few women making real money in a male-dominated field, earning my Microsoft and AAT certifications along the way. But my real edge? No scripts, no hard closes, just genuine connections. Gatekeepers became friends, and receptionists knew me as Mel, never Melanie. One of my proudest early wins? Closing an £11,000 deal for Pitman Training. From there, I climbed the ranks in digital sales, leading teams, closing major deals & helping Royal Mail’s digital division hit £1M profit in just 6 months.
But I wanted more.
I took everything I’d learned. Wins, failures, and all, and built a training school that grew into a 10-year international success. I trained trainers, delivered courses worldwide, and even franchised it.
Then came Easiring, my invention. I designed, patented, and launched a tool that fits microrings five times faster than standard methods, collaborating with Bradford University to perfect it. All the while, I kept thriving in sales, lead generation and events. Always selling, innovating, and disrupting industries.
People Over Transactions
At the heart of everything I do, I believe in one thing: People buy from people. Sales isn’t just about numbers for me, it’s about genuine relationships, authentic conversations, and creating real value. Whether I’m selling tech, luxury goods, or a vision, I do it with passion, confidence, and heart. Because sales isn’t just my career; it’s my art.
And that, in a nutshell, is Melanie Martin.
From the age of 4, I was a dancer (ballet, modern, tap, & contemporary); you name it, I trained in it. And trust me, I can still bust a move when the moment calls for it! It wasn’t just a hobby.
I put in the work, won awards, and was even a finalist for Miss Dance of Cleveland. Performing has always been in my blood, and I carry that same energy, confidence, and stage presence into everything I do today.
Nowadays, I stick to regular gym workouts and salsa classes & I'm back on the blades!
I'm obsessed with travel. Any chance to pack a bag, hop on a plane & chase the sun. I’m there!
There’s something about the warmth of the sun on my skin, the scent of the sea breeze, and palm trees swaying in the wind that just feels like heaven. I’ve cruised with P&O Ferries and Royal Caribbean, trekked in the desert of Cabo Verde, grooved on the San Juan beaches, and snorkelled in the seas of Africa. Next stop - apparently the world's best slime museum resides in New York, which my daughter will absolutely adore!
Every great journey starts with a simple idea. Mine began over 20 years ago with a mission to redefine the world of sales. After reading a thousand sales books and listening to what felt like a billion podcasts, all preaching the same tired techniques (say this, don’t say that), I knew it was time to rip up the rulebook and start fresh.
Sales has long had a bad reputation, but at its core, it’s not about pressure or persuasion; it’s about listening, understanding, and providing real solutions. That’s why I built a different kind of sales approach. One rooted in respect, authenticity, and a deep commitment to helping businesses grow.
