Beach or Bedroom? The Dilemma

There’s a moment in life when everything shifts, a split second when the weight of the past collides with the promise of the future. For me, that moment happened in my kitchen.

I was stirring dinner, lost in thought, when my little girl looked up at me and said:

Remember, we can move away now, Mummy.”

That was it. The catalyst. The anchor. The bridge I didn’t even realise I needed.

After ditching my then-husband and diving headfirst into a messy divorce (because hey, who doesn’t love a bit of drama?), I spent months deep in reflection conversations with myself, my kids, and life itself. What did we truly want? Because one thing was certain: it wasn’t this.

I refused to stay trapped by rules, expectations, or a job that measured my worth in micromanagement and burnout. I was done conforming. It was time to take control.

We started dreaming. We built vision boards. We researched countries, career paths, and lifestyles that aligned with the life we deserved.

Then I found it: freelance sales executive.

Freelance (it’s in the name): freedom to work on my terms.

Freedom to choose my hours.

Freedom to build a life-first, work-second routine.

Freedom to work from the beach… or the bedroom.
Beach or Bedroom?

One of the best (and most dangerous) perks of freelancing? You can work from anywhere.

Some swear by working from bed, cozy, convenient, no commute. And hey, if that’s your dream, go for it.

Me? I favour the beach.

There’s something powerful about opening your laptop with waves crashing nearby, your toes buried in warm sand, and a sea breeze swirling through your thoughts. That’s freedom. The kind I fought for.

But don’t get it twisted, I work hard.

I’m not sipping piña coladas all day or breaking into spontaneous salsa (not till the work’s done, at least!). This isn’t some lazy, sit-back-and-watch-the-money-roll-in gig. Freelancing is discipline.

It takes integrity, trust, and an unshakable work ethic. I’ve done 6 AM to 11 PM shifts, juggled contracts like a circus act, and consistently delivered results that help businesses grow and thrive. My clients don’t care where I am ,bedroom, coffee shop, or beach. They care that I deliver.

And I do. Every. Single. Time.
Why Freelancing Works for Me (And Might Work for You)

Freelancing means I’m no longer shackled to someone else’s clock. I produce. I perform. I succeed, on my terms.

I wake up excited because my work funds my dreams, gives my kids stability, and fuels the life we once only imagined.

It took guts, grit, and hard graft to get here. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

If you’re wondering whether you could do the same, whether freelancing could give you the flexibility, income, and lifestyle you crave, let’s talk.

Let’s design a life that works for YOU.
